Maple Kids

The research behind Maple Kids

Maple Kids is evidence-informed: our stories and Parent Guides are designed using published principles from shared reading, child development, social-emotional learning, parent-child interaction and guided practice. The studies below examine reading and picture books in general, and none of them tested Maple Kids itself.

How we talk about evidence

  • These studies examine shared reading and picture books in general. They did not test Maple Kids, and they are not a promise of results for any individual child.
  • • We do not claim that Maple Kids is clinically proven, scientifically proven to change behavior, or guaranteed to change what a child does.
  • Maple Kids is an educational parenting tool designed to support shared learning and conversation. It is not medical, psychological, diagnostic or therapeutic care, and it does not replace qualified professional support when needed.
